Outside may be bitterly cold, but inside Norwich Arts Centre tonight there is the familiar warmth of community. Thatās because those shanty punks Skinny Lister are in town for another uplifting evening of sing-a-long folk tales.
THE MOLEE SHAKES
Country Blues duo The Molee Shakes are the first act to grace the stage this evening and set about showcasing their melancholic fuzz to the early attendees. The performance grows as it progresses and by the end theyāve certainly done enough to engage the crowd and start the show the right way.
LIFE AQUATIC BAND
After a short changeover five-piece ensemble Life Aquatic Band appear as our main support act. The band offer intrigue from the outset with their unique indie disco brand. Each of the three acts tonight offer something different which makes the evening an eclectic mix, but Life Aquatic Band in and of themselves are a delightful sonic jumble!
The musicianship is mightily impressive, the songs have something special about them, the set itself is slick and quirkily stylish and the overall package is thoroughly enjoyable. Itās no surprise therefore that come the climax of their time of stage, the audience appear desperate for more whilst offering a genuinely rousing ovation.
SKINNY LISTER
For many bands that would a difficult set to follow, but Skinny Lister are no average band and theyāve long asserted themselves into the most fun live band conversation. Tonight is simply another exhibit for the case of the prosecution.
From the word go, the band use every ounce of energy to rip through one stirring fan favourite to another. Clearly the likes of āWantedā, āTragedy in A Minorā, āRattle & Roarā and āCathyā were always destined to elicit positive responses from the audience. Tonight, though the band are also able to perform tracks from their latest album, āShanty Punkā.
Now in our album review we called it the most āSkinny Listerā Skinny Lister album, and that sentiment follows these songs onto the stage. All of āArm Wrestling in Dresdenā, āCompany of the Barā, āMantraā and āUnto the Breachā fit perfectly into the well established setlist and all receive great reactions from a crowd having lots of fun.
Today saw the untimely departure of Pogues iconic frontman Shane MacGowan, and with a little over an hour until December arrives thereās a fitting tribute at the start of the encore with a superb rendition of āFairytale Of New Yorkā. The night then finishes with āSix Whiskiesā heralding one last sing-a-long moment.
At this point Skinny Lister are a guaranteed good time and youād be a fool to miss them when they come to your town!

Over the past decade, Skinny Lister have established themselves as a phenomenal live act and a consistently creative band on record. Now on their sixth studio album they do their best to merge these two qualities.
āShanty Punkā has been written and recorded with an aim of capturing the essence of the bands live shows and putting it on record. This is a notoriously difficult thing to do but is something which Skinny Lister has managed to achieve well here.
Over their previous albums fans have come to expect drunken sing-a-long anthems full of folk punk crossover with a sprinkling of shanty call and response fun. This album goes all in on the themes and musical overtures that the band have perfected. āShanty Punkā is the most āSkinny Listerā Skinny Lister album that the band have made, and itās glorious!
There are plenty of those famous sing-a-longs on āShanty Punkā with the likes of āCompany of the Barā, āDown on the Barrierā and the Party George featuring āWilliam Harkerā sure to be set staples for years to come. Shantyās are covered with ā13 Milesā and āMantraā acts as a traditional poignant tale.
If youāve ever seen Skinny Lister live then youāll know what the band are all about, and if you havenāt ā where have you been! The bands reputation has already been well earned, but if any album could act as an introduction for the uninitiated it would be āShanty Punkā.
The band should be proud to have managed to truly capture their spirit and soul across the eleven tracks and ultimately āShanty Punkā must be heralded as possibly their very best collection of songs so far.
Our weekly music News Report has evolved into theĀ Full Pelt Magazine, and you can download the third issue now for free!

Foolhardy Folk Festival – Nottingham – Live review
Towards the end of the original lockdown, the ever creative music industry sought ways to bring people back together to experience the unparalleled joy of live music. The Arboretum in Nottingham hosted a number of events including a couple of shows from folk favourite Frank Turner.
That is where the story of the Foolhardy Folk Festival begins as the man behind the festival, fellow folk icon Beans On Toast played in support of Turner. From there on Beans has affectionately taken over and curated his own festival which this year is a complete sell out.
A large part of this is the stunning line-up put on but another is the fantastic sense of community that exists in this portion of the folk scene and the lovely audience that has taken this back to basics event to heart.
Opening his own event Beans On Toast highlights the great music, great food and great beer theme. On the music front Beans serenades the already full venue with the likes of āMajor Oakā, āThe War on Warā and āHumansā as the festival gets into full swing.
The festival is family friendly and this is punctuated by the vibe created by attendees in that we are all family. Beans own daughter lays on kids activites, there is live art and lots of merch offer as well but with short changeovers the attention is mainly on the one stage where both Vona Vella and Tensheds play delightful early sets.
Soon enough itās time for our special guest to take to the stage and this year that means Frank Turner himself as he returns the favour three years on from that socially distanced affair.
As youād expect Turner gets a heroās welcome as he begins his set with āBe More Kindā and āThe Ballad of Me and My Friendsā. The crowd’s singing voices are in fine fettle which is a good thing considering the sing-a-longs continue through to final song āI Still Believeā.
Another beautiful thing about this community is the lack of ego on show, Turner as always appearing eternally grateful for the opportunity to play. The same can be said for your next three acts Truckstop Honeymoon, Ferris & Sylvester and Jeffery Lewis & The Voltage. All three acts are given equally as passionate reactions from the audience who can clearly appreciate beautiful music.
Considering weāve brought our two little monsters with us another great thing about Foolhardy Folk Festival is that the music is wrapped up by 9pm! But before then we still have two highly anticipated performances.
First up are the always joyous Skinny Lister who bring their traditional party atmosphere to the festival. Perhaps more so than any other set today, the Lister crew get the fans up and dancing to the likes of āCathyā, āThis Is Warā and āTrouble on Oxford Streetā. The band are surely now established as one of the best live acts in the UK and with a new album and tour on the horizon, there will thankfully be lots of opportunities to catch them again in the near future!
Finally the event ends just as it beganā¦ with our gracious host Beans On Toast! With backing band in tow this time around the show feels different and special as our headline performance. Kicking off with āLifeā and āNot Everybody Thinks Weāre Doomedā the set is an uplifting celebration of our existence and is the perfect way to end a wonderful day.
The cutest cameo from Beans daughter, new material and old favourites ensure that despite having to follow some sensational artists, Beans On Toast is able to send the crowd into the night reminiscing about a beautiful day, many including our kids still singing the chorus of āOn & Onā!
With another edition already announced for next August, the Foolhardy Folk Festival has quickly established itself as a must attend date on the folk calendar. This is of course a credit to Beans On Toast, but also to everyone involved behind the scenes and of course the fan community that makes the event so special.
Welcome everyone to another edition of our weekly music News Report!
We are kicking off this week with the best live announcements from the past seven days and up first is the above arena tour from Depeche Mode!
Following stadium and arena shows across Europe, Mexico, Canada, and the US this summer and fall, the group have announced 29 new European dates which will extend the ‘Memento Mori’ tour into 2024.
The Wonder Years announce ‘The Greatest Generation’ 10 Year Anniversary Tour
Next up in our News Report are The Wonder Years who will be returning to the UK in November for a very special tour.
The group will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ‘The Greatest Generation’ with support from Origami Angel and Kississippi!
Speaking of tour, frontman Dan Campbell says, āThe second leg of The Greatest Generation 10 Year Anniversary is coming to the United Kingdom this November. Weāre ripping six shows with our pals in Origami Angel and Kississippi where weāll be playing the entire album plus a second set of songs spanning our whole catalog.ā
Wargasm continue their ascent with news of their debut album, ‘Venom’, which is due out on October 27th! The band have also confirmed details of a full headline tour taking place later this year!
Alongside these announcements the band also shared new single, ‘Do It So Good’, which you can check out below.
You can pre-order your copy and pick up tickets here.
Following their big return at Download Festival last month, The Blackout have now revealed a string of new tour dates taking place in February next year!
Our News Report turns now towards the best new releases from the past week and we begin with the latest single from Royal Blood. You can check out ‘Pull Me Through’ above!
The tracks comes from upcoming new album, ‘Back To The Water Below’, which is out September 1st.
On the single, the band commented “Itās ultimately about giving up on persevering alone and finding strength in asking for help. Hope you connect with it”.
Guitar icon Chris Shiflett has shared details of his next solo album, ‘Lost At Sea’, which will arrive on October 20th.
Most of the new album was recorded in Nashville, working with his producer and collaborator Jaren Johnston, frontman of The Cadillac Three, as well as the songwriter behind nearly a dozen Number 1 country hits.
āWe wrote a lot of these songs during the lockdown,ā recalls Shiflett, who spent much of the pandemic at home in Southern California. āThen I began making trips to Nashville to work with Jaren. He and I have a lot of overlap, in terms of the music we like. We made a guitar-centric record that encapsulates everything I’ve been listening to over the years, from the most country songs I’ve ever recorded to punk rock and even songs that sound like a California version of The Clash.ā
New single, āDamage Controlā, is the track heās referencing, which strays further from the country influence than most of the album. Itās also the only āoldā tune that Johnston and Shiflett included on ‘Lost at Sea’.
āAll the other tunes were written in the months leading up to recording, but when Jaren and I were sorting out which songs to do he mentioned something about The Clash and I remembered this old one Iād demoed about 15 years prior,ā recalls Shiflett.
With its layers of reverb, pulsing percussion and Echoplex tape delay, āDamage Controlā went through a number of versions before reaching its final form in the studio with Johnston.
āI love that the musical inspiration on this one was late-stage Clash, but we wound up layering it with banjos and what-not. Definitely takes it somewhere else. Ska-mericana?ā Shiflett laughs. āThereās nothing better than when influences converge taking you places you never expected.ā
The Struts share video for ‘Too Good at Raising Hell’
The Struts have unveiled the video for their latest single, ‘Too Good at Raising Hell’, which you can check out above!
āWe are so excited to release our devilishly cheeky video for our latest single, āToo Good At Raising Hell,āā announces vocalist Luke Spiller. āItās a song that was written about the disenchantment I felt after having a little too much fun. However, it still captures the essence of living an excessive life and all of the glorious moments that come along with it.ā
Rockers Crobot have this week unveiled their new cover of Janet Jackson’s ‘Black Cat’, which you can check out above.
Crobotās Brandon Yeagley shares, āEvery time we talked about covering a song, āBlack Catā would come up as one we wished we had written. So, hereās our chance to pay homage to the great Janet Jackson. Itās got all the things that go into the Crobot sound – bad ass riffs, a funky groove for days, and soaring high vocals. Whatās not to like about this tune? Itās even got cow bell!ā
Caskets will release to their new album, ‘Reflections’, on August 11th. This week saw the group share their latest pre-release single, ‘Believe’, which you can check out above.
Speaking of the track, frontman Matt Flood says, ā’Believe’ is a song about realising and recognising your own worth. Itās about letting go of the toxicity in your life and making that step forward. Believe in yourself and the choices youāre making. Even if the path doesnāt seem clear right now, theyāll get you where you want to be.ā
Tempt have shared their latest single, ‘Burn Me Down’, which you can of course check out above!
The single comes from their newly announced self-titled debut album, which is set for release on August 25th.
“Our new single ‘Burn Me Down’ delves into the intense and addictive nature of a toxic love,ā reveals singer Zach Allen. āIt captures the bittersweet realization that someone has the power to consume you completely, even when you know it’s not healthy. It’s a raw expression of the conflicting emotions that arise when you can’t resist the fire that’s destined to burn you.”
Guitarist Harrison Marcello shares, “āBurn Me Downā reflects the chaos of passion and desire. We wrote it with driving riffs and electrifying energy to capture that feeling. it’s about the kind of love that both exhilarates and destroys, and the inner turmoil we experience when we’re caught in its relentless cycle, unable to escape the allure of someone who has the power to ignite and consume us.”
Keeping it heavy next in our News Report we have ‘Keres’, the latest single from Thy Art Is Murder, which you can check out above.
The track comes from upcoming new album, ‘Godlike’, which is due for release on September 15th.
“Itās not often we have this level of excitement to present a new single to the world. Keres is a metal anthem filled with grinding verses and stomping choruses, stripping down some of the complexity that may have gotten in the way of previous attempts to deliver a song of this magnitude. The Keres was an evil sprite in ancient Greek mythology that would feed on the dead, but could not participate in acts of violence. We think this behavior is as relevant in the arena of news and politics as it was on those ancient battlefields.” – Guitarist Andy Marsh
Skinny Lister this week unveiled details of new studio album, ‘Shanty Punk’, which is due out on October 20th.
The group also debuted new single, ‘Company of the Bar’, which you can check out above.
Dan Heptinstall says: āItās a simple sentiment, but one that is at the heart of the Skinny Lister philosophy. This is a song that has been built for the rugged road, and we canāt wait to hear it belted back at us on our upcoming US and UK Tours later this year!ā
“Shanty Punk is our concept album ā and the concept is Skinny Lister. Itās a pure distillation of what makes Skinny Lister tick, and perhaps a collection of songs that leans further into our folky routes than weāve ventured in some years. It felt to us like it was time to touch base and celebrate the essence of the band, while at the same time ā giving it a fresh and dynamic feel.ā
Finally in this section of our News Report this week is ‘Mercy Wave’, the latest single from Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun which you can check out above.
The track comes from upcoming new album, ‘Colour’, which is out on July 28th.
In an update to fans Lockey said of the single, “Itās one of my favourite songs on the record and one of the last songs we wrote before heading in to record. In fact, lots of the instrumental parts on it were written very much in the moment, in the depths of the Cornish countryside in the darkness of December, and it developed into exactly what it needed to be; a bright and uplifting Summer anthem. Funny how those moments of darkness can produce hopefulness. Kind of the perfect fit for our record in many ways.”
“It feels exciting that this is one of the most up to date snapshots of our band. I think weāve always had a multi-faceted sound which hasnāt always worked to our advantage but is an honest representation of who we are as musicians and our wide spanning and ever evolving influences. āMercy Waveā shows a side of the band that is possibly a bit brighter, a bit naughties indie and is reductive in its arrangement; almost a minimalist version of a classic JL&tSS tune. It has one of the biggest sing along choruses on the record and it gets stuck in my head for hours at a time.”
SnƵƵper have shared new single āRunningā, from their debut album ‘Super SnƵƵper’!
On the track, vocalist Blair said āRunning was written during the pandemic as many of our early songs were. This song was written deep in the pandemic when people began to feel hopeless and everything began to feel really scary. The George Floyd protests were happening, Trump was president, and people felt out of control as we watched our country experience the consequences of an unjust system. Political leaders were fanning the flames as people were screaming for change. All of this was happening at a time when people couldnāt properly take action due to pandemic restrictions. It was a horrifying feeling. Most days, all I could do was go for a long walk or run. I think sometimes thatās all anyone can do when things feel out of control. We can always get out of our minds and into our bodies. Move, breathe, jump, put one foot in front of the other.ā
DEADLETTER – ‘Degenerate Inanimate’
DEADLETTER share their new single āDegenerate Inanimateā!
On the single, frontman Zac Lawrence says āDegenerate Inanimate alludes to the feeling of betrayal felt when someone close to you is revealed as dishonest to the bone. There’s a unique form of unease which arises from having your basic intelligence mocked, as they reveal their complete lack of decency.ā
Break Fifty – ‘A Familiar Face (Of Someone I Never Knew’
UK Nu-Core band Break Fifty kick start a whole new era by announcing a fresh line-up and sharing new single, āA Familiar Face (Of Someone I Never Knew)ā
āA Familiar Face (Of Someone I Never Knew) is an expression of childhood trauma. The main focus in lyrics within this song quotes āthe end of eternal youthā, This can be taken as upon the instance of trauma it can often feel as if your youth has been stripped away and all joy of childhood has been tarnished.ā – Vocalist, Angus.
Welcome everyone to another edition of our weekly music News Report!
This week we are starting by rounding up the best live announcements from the past week and we begin with Halestorm.
Ahead of their performance at Download Festival the band have already revealed that they will return to the UK for a special one-off show at Wembley Arena.
It was a big week this week for Skinny Lister who had both new music and new tour dates to share.
Alongside a full UK tour later this year, the band debuted new single, ‘Down On The Barrier’, which you can check out below!
Speaking about the message behind their euphoric, enlightening new track frontman Dan Heptinstall says:
“Music is a kind of religion to many gig-goers, and in āDown On The Barrierā weāve tried to capture that feeling. The church in this case is the venue, the sermon is the song and the preacher the artist. Itās a nod to those almost spiritual moments when we gather to enjoy some communal rockānāroll worship, as well as a healthy dose of support, release and camaraderie. See you down on the barrier!”
Another hot ticket later this year will be the ‘This Is How It Feels’ tour from Lottery Winners.
Announcing the tour the band said “Weāre going to be throwing everything at this, with special guests and special production and doing our best to make it a special experience. So, please come. Bring a friend. Letās spread the word and get these venues bouncing. We love you all so much! X”
After their appearance at Slam Dunk Festival, Yellowcard have revealed details of a new EP, ‘Childhood Eyes’ which will be released on July 7th.
Ahead of the release the band have shared the title-track, which you can check out above!
About the new single, William Ryan Key said: “I woke up in the middle of the night with the chorus ringing in my head. I grabbed my phone off of the night stand and started typing away, squinting in the dark. This was months before we even started demoing the EP. When we started writing I threw the idea in the hat at the last minute, picked up a guitar to try and put music to the melody in my head for the first time, and Childhood Eyes was born. This is a song about being defeating, let down, and deceived time and again, but still managing to find your creative soul and carry on. I think it captures the spirit of Yellowcard, both old and new.ā
Another band with new music following their appearances at Slam Dunk Festival was Trophy Eyes.
The band shared their new single, ‘Life In Slow Motion’, which you can check out above!
āāLife in Slow Motionā is my assessment of life itself, and the way we as humans navigate life and time here on Earth.ā says John Floreani. āSearching for meaning in chaos, I found myself seeing signs in number patterns and small examples of beauty in ordinary life; a hug at the bar exchanged between friends, a crinkled photo of a loved one kept close, a kindness or a smile. What they mean, I canāt say, but sometimes if you look hard enough and sit quietly enough, life reaches out and speaks to you.ā
The release comes ahead of new album, ‘Suicide and Sunshine’, which is out on June 23rd.
Currently touring stadiums with Arctic Monkeys, this week also saw The Mysterines share their latest new track, ‘Begin Again’, which you can check out above.
Grian Chatten shares ‘Last Time Every Time Forever’
Grian Chatten had more new music to share this week as he debuted new single, ‘Last Time Every Time Forever’, which you can check out above!
Chatten says: āāLast Time Every Time Foreverā is a weak kneeād 99th lap around a hellscape town of your own making. Itās haunted by seagulls and hoarse-throated slot machines from the 1980s and it breaks its own promise on every listen.ā
The track comes from upcoming debut solo album, ‘Chaos For The Fly’, which is out June 30th.
‘Discover’ New Music Podcast alumni ANGER PARTY shared their latest new single this week.
Bringing this section of our News Report to a close is, ‘Save Myself’, which you can check out above!
“No matter how many times our intuition tells us to leave, no matter how much ourindiscretion speaks for itself, sometimes weāre inexplicably drawn to people that never fail todisappoint and betray us. āSave Myselfā tells a story of inner turmoil, treading the fine linebetween yearning for somebody that will never earn our affections, and having the selfrespect to realize that weāre better off alone.ā – Guitar / Vocals – Owen Claxton.
Norwegians Fixation share new single, ‘Flat Earth’.
The band states, “Flat Earth is a track that delves into the minds of people who persuade themselves into believing conspiracy theories. People that are so centered around their own perception of the truth that they refuse to see it any other way. The lyrics sums it up: Ā«Even if they see it, they probably wonāt believe it.”
Kings County – ‘Holding On’
US band Kings County share new single, ‘Holding On’.
Singer Rob Dexter says, āāHolding On” was the song we needed to write. After our last release in 2022, we were constantly performing live for months and knew we had to get back to writing or we would become complacent. You are as good as your last song and “Holding On” was a pivotal moment for us. We needed to raise the bar and that’s exactly what we did with “Holding On”.ā
Up next are Skindred who also have a new album, ‘Smile’, on the way August 4th.
This week saw the group reveal a new autumn tour which will see the band joined by Blackgold.
Regarding the tour drummer Arya Goggin says, āThere is a lot to Smile about when it comes to this TOUR! We are taking out an amazing new band called BlackGold too. They are bringing āNu Metalā back and I think āDred fans will love them. Go check āem out!ā
The Cult have announced three special summer shows in Cardiff, Halifax and Scarborough alongside a full EU Tour.
Accompanying the tour announcement is the release of The Cultās fiery, expressionistic new video for āVendetta Xā, the third single from ‘Under The Midnight Sun’.
AsĀ The CultĀ return to the stage to launch the next chapter ofĀ ‘Under The Midnight Sun’,Ā Ian AstburyĀ hopes that the albumās new dimensions provoke reactions both primal and sublime in listenersā consciousness – echoing what he himself experienced during its creation.
āAt the core of it all, music contains the vibrational frequency of how we once communicated before we could even speak,ā Astbury says. āBird songs, animal calls, string theory, quantum physics, psychedelicsā¦ The record ultimately becomes about discovering and celebrating anew the beauty from those strangely natural moments that surround and inspire us.ā
The final tour announcement in our News Report this week comes from The Winery Dogs who have added October dates to their already announced June shows.
We move our News Report on now to the best festival announcements of the past week and up first is the Beans On Toast curated Foolhardy Folk Festival in Nottingham.
Joining Beans this year will be acts including Skinny Lister, Ferris & Sylvester, Truckstop Honeymoon, Tensheds and more!
Our other festival announcement comes from 110 Above presents OTHR Festival!
The slightly scaled back version of 110 Above will feature Circa Waves, Jack Garratt, Twin Atlantic, Black Honey, Lauran Hibberd, Fatherson, King No-One, Coach Party, Courting, Chappaqua Wrestling and many more.
We move on now to the best new releases from the past week and up first are When Rivers Meet you have shared their brand new single, ‘Play My Game’.
You can listen to the track above, which will feature on upcoming new album, ‘Aces Are High’, which arrives late summer.
Regarding the forthcoming album the duo say,Ā āAs our music is progressing, weāre finding our sound even more.Ā When we went in the studio this time, weāve never been so sure on what we wanted to createāwe had a really clear vision and have stuck to it.Ā Ā Ā āBefore we held back on being too rocky, but this time we allowed ourselves to create what we wanted to hear, without restricting ourselves. We also allowed ourselves to express the different colours to our music with tracks like āGoldenā and āBy Your Sideā, so this album has more extremes.Ā We still call upon our influences from all the years but remain true to ourselves to create music we love.ā
The new releases’ continue at pace in our News Report and next up is ‘The Raven’, the latest track from Black Orchid Empire, which you can listen to above.
The track comes from their upcoming album, ‘Tempus Veritas’, which will arrive on April 14th.
A new project next as our News Report brings you How We End. Featuring Jen Majura (Ex-Evanescence) on guitar and Diva Satanica (Ex-Nervosa) on vocals, How We End promises to be an exciting new chapter.
Rounding out the group are Jake E (Cyhra, Ex-Amaranthe) on vocals, Tom Naumann (Primal Fear) on guitar, Mitch Kunz (bass) and Adde Larsson (drums).
This week saw the group arrive with their single, ‘My Fighting Heart’, which you can check out above.
Dead Man’s Whiskey have this week shared their latest single, ‘Masquerade’, which you can check out above!
The single is the first track to be taken from a forthcoming new studio album, ‘In The Storm’, due out September 29th.
Vocalist Nico Rogers says,Ā ā’This song has been a bit of a journey for us. In its earliest form we’ve had this song for a couple of years, although it’s grown a lot.
It’s brimming with a kind of dissatisfied energy we all had while we wrote it, in a way I think a lot of people will feel too. It’s a rallying cry against what’s happened to music right now, the three ringed circus of algorithmically generated hits that keep turning up. We know how far we are from those perfect cookie cutter artists and this song is about that dichotomy. We don’t want to conform, we make the music we love. Ā I think that shows in the sound too, not just on this track, but on the album as a whole. It’s heavier, darker. Like we got a little older, found a new gear, and now we’re going full throttle in it.ā
Norwegian metalcore act Fixation are now gearing up for their debut album with the release of a brand new single ‘Ignore the Disarray’.
About the new track the band states:Ā āThis song is about those with a desire to control other people. It’s not about religion itself, but about those who use religion or their perception of reality to justify oppression, hate and control.āĀ
DEADLETTER – ‘The Snitching Hour’
DEADLETTERĀ share new single āThe Snitching Hourā.
Lead singer Zac Lawrence comments: “Are we slowly but surely being tacitly tempted into a culture of casual betrayal? The messages we are fed, on the outside, might be read as being solely in the interest of public safety – but take a closer look, and perhaps thereās a more insidious undertone to it allā¦”
The Throwaway Scene – ‘Fake Death’
Sheffield emo rock outfit, The Throwaway Scene have released their brand new single āFake Deathā.
āThis track is a slight departure from my previous lyrical stylings/choices with a view of exploring narrative that was less self-centered. I think vocally it just āfeelsā different too ācos the delivery of the lines is a lot more direct than before. Due to lifeās unfortunate timing we were recording vocals on the day we found out a family member had passed so Fake Death will always be quite a personal song.ā – Vocalist, Oliver.
