Theory of a Deadman say that they are on a “more music, more often” path and first up is new EP, ‘Part 1: Funeral Songs’.
Six songs that find the band with renewed energy and thicker skins, the likes of ‘Barricade’ and ‘Winnebago (Lay Low)’ work well in kickstarting this latest era for the band.
There is a strong argument to be made that Theory of a Deadman are a relic of a past age, particularly with some of their lyrical content. There is also a counter argument that says given how serious the world has gotten, perhaps a little silliness is the order of the day.
This EP isn’t going to change any opinions on the band, fans will enjoy this latest quick ride, and haters are going to find more reason to double-down on their hatred.
