venus grrrls – to die as lovers may – ep review
VENUS GRRRLS have long been touted by us as ones to watch. A slew of enjoyable singles and plenty of sublime live shows have them as a group capable of achieving much.
Surprisingly new EP, ‘To Die as Lovers May’ is their first physical and most substantive release to date. Five tracks shrouded in darkness and the macabre, the 80’s gothic influence is clear for all and is pulled off with aplomb.
You’ll have fun with this EP, and it gives a real bookend to their early career, acting as the perfect jump on point. With ‘Eve’ leading the way, each track offers a glimpse of the spooky aesthetics that surround the band, all perfect for Halloween season.
Ultimately though, this EP represents yet another outstanding outing for this fiercely talented group. Ones to watch indeed because all eyes are now on VENUS GRRRLS!
