AIRBOURNE – AIRBOURNE – ALBUM REVIEW
From 2007 to 2019 Airbourne released a new album every three years. Their new self-titled album marks their first in seven years – more than double their usual schedule. What have they been cooking up then?
Well, to the surprise of nobody… more of the same. The original excitement the band generated has long since subsided with the AC/DC, all out adrenaline sound more than just their signature, it’s ingrained in their DNA.
This release is more of the same, but let’s be honest that’s what we’d want from an Airbourne EP. They were never a candidate for a Jordan Fish style makeover were they!

Some of the lyrical content may now be past its sell by date but boy can these boys still make a wonderful wall of noise. They say that rock and roll will never die and Airbourne are the living embodiment of that sentiment.
As seems to be the case with their last few albums, there are some singles here ready to integrate into their rigid setlists but much of the rest will ultimate prove forgettable. Indeed, a runtime of 47 minutes is probably unnecessary for the album to do its job.
Still, the cobwebs have been blown off and the machine is roaring once again. Airbourne fans wake up because your band are once again standing to attention and waiting to blow your socks off!
