Watching the world of Lake Malice evolve in recent years has had the band on tip of tongues. Plenty of live opportunities have followed and anticipated has grown for the duo’s debut album.
An album that finally arrives in the shape of ‘I Wanna Know If It’s Real’.
The album title is a direct spoiler for the themes of a record that explores living in a tech dominated world and trying to understand what is still real.
Ironically this is a very modern sounding rock album, with electronic elements building layers upon the crushing guitar riffs and thundering rhythms. In all true senses, this is a genre-defying release as the band merge elements of alt rock and hyperpop to create a distinctive sound of their own.

The album really is a shot of pure adrenaline! With it’s early run of pre-release singles like ‘Scatterbrain’ and ‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ pulling you in before the likes of ‘Real Life’ and ‘90’s btch’ ensure that you’re hooked.
In an industry where it’s become increasingly harder to differentiate yourself, Lake Malice have done a sterling job in delivering a debut album which is undoubtedly theirs.
Living up to early potential can be a difficult thing to do, but this duo have taken a giant leap forward with ‘I Wanna Know If It’s Real’.
