FONTAINES D.C. – dopamine chamber – album review
2024’s ‘Romance’ was a big release for Fontaines D.C.. They had always threatened to be a game changing band, but the release took them to another level.
A recently announced stadium tour confirms that they are now in an elite tier of acts able to command such status. Before those dates though they have their fifth studio album, ‘Dopamine Chamber’, to unveil.
Pre-release single, ‘Marianne’, has been a hugely successful song, and anticipation is incredibly high for the album. That track follows opener ‘Six Shot Morning’ as the band bring you into this latest dimension of theirs.

‘Romance’ was a sonic leap toward an even deeper sound for the band and ‘Dopamine Chamber’ sees that evolution developing even further into the darkness of our time.
The eleven tracks are all-absorbing and will take you away from reality and into this intense world. There aren’t the big standout singles you might expect from the band but the weight of the album in its entirety is substantial.
Into each generation, a chosen one is born and there can be no denying that Fontaines D.C. are a generational talent. This album may not scream stadium filler, but the insatiable charm of the band and these beautiful songs defies logic and expectation.
