ALT BLK ERA – RAVE IMMORTAL – ALBUM REVIEW

Sisters Nyrobi and Chaya have been making waves with their alt-rock trickery and the time has arrived for their big opening statement of a debut album!

‘Rave Immortal’ is a representation of everything that makes this group unique. Both sonically and aesthetically this is ALT BLK ERA nailing their colours to the mast and defiantly proclaiming themselves as the future of British heavy music.

Loud, noisy, fast-paced, ferocious, soaring, captivating and so many more cliches can be applied to this collection and from the moment the incredible ‘Straight to Heart’ kickstarts the album you’ll also be running out of superlatives as well.

Thematically these songs explore both personal experiences and societal challenges in a way that creates something of a safe space for anyone feeling marginalised. There is no such thing as normal, and these sisters have a fantastic ability to showcase the importance of self-acceptance.

Musically the crossover appeal presented on ‘Rave Immortal’ will undoubtedly stand the band in good stead moving forward. Rockers, metal heads, ravers and mainstream pop followers will all find elements in these carefully crafted bangers to enjoy.

The likes of ‘Hunt You Down’ and ‘Run Rabbit’ sound absolutely massive and will get your feet moving, whilst other tracks will have you paying attention to the lyrics and engaging your brain. So, whilst the record has an encompassing identity, it also adeptly showcases a wide range of influences, which is a huge credit to Nyrobi and Chaya.

All in all, you really couldn’t ask for much more from the sisters on their first album. If this just the beginning for ALT BLK ERA then they are certainly on the pathway of megastars!
