STand atlantic – godbreath – album review
Born into the pop-punk world but constantly evolving, Stand Atlantic are back with another leap forwards – their fifth album, ‘Godbreath’.
As the Aussies continue their two-yearly release schedule they also continue to explore the edges of their sound. ‘Godbreath’ is an album which journeys through those pop-punk origins and into the realms of alternative, rock and all out alt-pop.
Pre-release singles, ‘LUCID’, ‘NEXT2U’ and ‘Velcro’ front load the record and set the tone for what’s to follow across the remaining eight tracks.

Big pop choruses and a modern rock punch sum up the overarching aesthetic of the album, but for those willing to invest in the songs, you’ll discover a wider palate from the band this time around.
The lyricism of Bonnie Fraser continues to gain traction too with a clear exploration present in the diverse topics covered. If you are to pick up on a theme throughout it’s contentment as Fraser admits to approaching the album from a place of happiness.
This is refreshing when most songwriting these days is focused on the mess of a world we are living in. We could all do with some happiness, and this is an album which being thoroughly enjoyable, will bring you just that.
‘Godbreath’ is new territory for the band, but fans will feel right at home.
