It’s only a year since Bryan Adams released his last album, ‘Roll with the Punches’. In fact, the legendary musician is as prolific now as he was back at the start of his career.
The quality of these latter-day releases has been remarkable and new album, ‘How’s It Goin’, is another stunning effort from the much-loved Canadian icon. It’s also something a little different as Adams celebrates his homeland through tales of people and places that mean something to him.
A true conceptual record, over the course of thirteen lovingly crafted tracks, Adams regales listeners with a love letter to his home whilst also taking aim at the noisy neighbour in the big house of white. ‘51st State’ and ‘Lake Ontario’ candidly calling out the absurdity of the rhetoric used by the current administration.

The pride Adams has for where he has come from really shines through and makes these songs a personable experience no matter where you originate from.
Sonically, the album leans into a softer folk/country sound with a few rockier moments in there for good mix. Adams has long established his ability to blend influences and adapt his musical outputs accordingly to the theme of the song and this album works incredibly well.
Bryan Adams is one of a kind and ‘How’s It Goin’ is the latest chapter of an unrivalled career of honest and heartfelt songsmithery.
