PRESIDENT – BLOOD OF YOUR EMPIRE – ALBUM REVIEW
Nobody can deny the impact that has been made by anonymous collective PRESIDENT over the past year or so. You may love them; you equally may hate them with a passion – either way they’ve been inescapable.
The aggressive marketing of the group has been both a key factor in their rise and a cause of the vitriol aimed towards them. Not many bands have merch in high street chains and branded beer in large supermarkets before they’ve released an album. Shows have gotten bigger and bigger despite the lack of available material and yes, they’ve all been selling out. Now however is money where your mouth is time.
Who is behind the mask? They say this will never be acknowledged but it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to think you’ve busted the main man. If it isn’t a certain famous singer, then the eponymous PRESIDENT could have a fall-back career a Fightstar frontman impersonator.

The popularity of Sleep Token and Ghost is clearly and unashamedly being taken advantage of with this project but despite all the opportunity to be cynical of their work; their music has spoken volumes too.
The songs have made connections, and their fanbase has continued to grow beyond the initial intrigue. That means that there is something substantive buried behind the theatre and that does verberate across debut album, ‘Blood Of Your Empire’.
Whether you’re somebody that wants to dig into the lore around the band or you’re simply drawn to their atmospheric sound, this is the album that you’ll want it to be. It’s ambitious and dynamic and brings credibility to a project that’s all too easy to try and tear down.
Whoever is behind the mask and whoever is funding the promotion, you can’t argue with the results. ‘Blood Of Your Empire’ takes what debut EP, ‘King of Terrors’ did and expands upon it with style. Like it or lump it, PRESIDENT are absolutely a force to be reckoned with.
