The group have debuted their new single, ‘What Hurts The Most’, which you can check out above.

The track will feature on newly announced upcoming album, ‘Suicide and Sunshine’, which will be out June 23rd.

“It’s the human experience,” says frontman John Floreani. “What we experience and how we navigate it. The millions of tiny flashes of light that are memories and thoughts and feelings and smells, all those little moments make up a lifetime. They’re beautifully tragic because they don’t mean anything to anyone, and on the scale of everything in the universe don’t mean a damn thing. But it’s so beautiful that they happen in the first place.”

The Raven Age debut ‘Serpents Tongue’

The Raven Age – ‘Serpents Tongue’

The Raven Age have debuted their latest single, ‘Serpents Tongue’, which you can check out above.

The track will feature on new album, ‘Blood Omen’, which is due out on July 7th.

“‘Serpents Tongue’ from the off felt like a very special track for us,” says singer Matt James. â€œIt’s that perfect balance between melodic and heaviness. There are so many different styles going on, but they all work and complement each other as a whole.”

Guitarist George Harris continues, â€œâ€˜Serpents Tongue’ is one of our favourites from the album and we knew it’d be a single straight away. Conceptually, the song is about deceit and lies, how you can only truly trust yourself and the loneliness that comes with that.

“The music video was shot at Revesby Abbey in Lincolnshire, which is an old derelict manor house that was also used to house American fighter pilots during the war. The concept is a play on the title ‘Serpents Tongue’ and is based around the character Medusa. We wanted to create a B-movie horror theme, in a haunted house/Addams Family style and have some fun with it. So that’s where the idea of having other creepy characters like the mummy, werewolf and three eyed man came from. They’re all invited along to a dinner party for the weird and wonderful, Medusa is taking orders from the Raven King and turns the guests to stone.”

Eva Under Fire share cover of ‘War Pigs’

Eva Under Fire – ‘War Pigs’

Eva Under Fire have shared their version of Black Sabbath classic ‘War Pigs’, which you can check out above.

Frontwoman Eva Marie comments: â€œThis cover pays tribute to yet another legend who has inspired us. My early days of falling in love with rock music included OzzFest and singing along to Black Sabbath on the way to school in the back of my parents minivan so it’s a bit of a full circle moment for me personally. It’s crazy that the lyrics in this song still ring true and are relevant today. Although the lyricism highlights the sad truth about the power hungry evils of the world, I also think it speaks volumes about how timeless this song really is. As a blue collar slave to the grind, I wanna thank Ozzy Osborne and Black Sabbath for this one. Generations later, we feel heard because of your song”.

XANDRIA unveil video for ‘My Curse Is My Redemption’

XANDRIA – ‘My Curse Is My Redemption’

XANDRIA our next in our News Report with the new video for ‘My Curse Is Redemption’, which you can check out above.

XANDRIA on ‘My Curse Is My Redemption’: “As many of you Xandria fans have named this song as one of your favorites from the new album, we decided to make a video for it – with beautiful pictures underlining the meaning of the lyrics: Music, art, as something that can derive from painful experiences, and then not only heal you, but also others. It is a wonderful gift for us all then.

Another musical colour from the rich palette of our album “The Wonders Still Awaiting”, on which each song has its very own identity and its own atmosphere. This one is symphonic for sure, but also has some straight rock vibes, and a certain 80’s flavour to it. It is melancholic but also has a hopeful twist, in both the music and the lyrics.

We noticed that it is a wonderful song to play live – and we are looking forward to play that song for you on the upcoming tour!”

News Report
paradise fell. – ‘LOVE STAINED.’

After a phenomenal launch in early 2023 alternative artist paradise fell. has followed this up with their sophomore single titled â€˜LOVE STAINED’.

“LOVE STAINED. was the beginning of our journey exposing a generation of forgotten voices. Lyrically this song helped me struggle amongst the midst of a twisted personal divorce. It quickly became a soundboard for me to build the vision of this project into. LOVE STAINED is a generational calling. A statement that in a day and age where instant gratification is so easily accessible, as a society we have become numb, stained by love and have lost touch with what that word really means”. – paradise fell.

Penny Rich – ‘Spirals’

‘Spirals’ is the latest single from Cardiff-based punk trio Penny Rich.

Discussing the meaning behind the track, the band explain: “‘Spirals’ is a song about finding futile solutions to life’s upward and downward spirals from the point of view of someone with underlying perfectionism and OCD. It explores the subconscious reflex of reaching for all-encompassing answers to your problems, be it a fad diet, a new routine, etc. Eventually, these solutions all ultimately fail, leaving you back at the bottom, at the start of the next spiral.

This song is very personal to Ant, who has long suffered with body dysmorphia stemming from underlying perfectionism and OCD. The song reflects the years of both physical and mental yo-yo’ing, leading to the conclusion that treating these underlying causes is the only way to eventually finding freedom from this never-ending cycle.”

Enter Shikari share new single ‘It Hurts’

Enter Shikari – ‘It Hurts’

Enter Shikari recently announced their upcoming new album, ‘A Kiss For The Whole World’, will be out April 21st, and this week saw the band share the latest taste.

You can listen to new track, ‘It Hurts’ above. Of the track, Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds explains:

“It Hurts came to me in a dream. Literally. Melody, chords, and fully-formulated chorus were all part of a dream that, thankfully, remained with me when I woke up. I was hiding under the duvet at 3AM, singing it into my phone, much to the bewilderment of my girlfriend.

Lyrically, It Hurts is about perseverance, and the importance of reframing failure as a fruitful and, in fact, pivotal route to progress. Society teaches us we should avoid and criticise failure, when defeat and honest mistakes can actually present us with insights that light our way forward.

In reality, we should be taught that simply to try makes us more than enough.”

Gengahr return with new single ‘A Ladder’

Gengahr – ‘A Ladder’

This week saw the return of Gengahr as the band shared their brand new single, ‘A Ladder’, which you can listen to above.

Dream Wife debut ‘Hot (Don’t Date A Musician)’

Dream Wife – ‘Hot (Don’t Date A Musician)’

Dream Wife have announced details of their next studio album with ‘Social Lubrication’ set to be released on June 9th.

This week the group preceded the release with new single, ‘Hot (Don’t Date A Musician)’, which you can check out above.

‘Social Lubrication’, in the band’s words, is “Hyper lusty rock and roll with a political punch, exploring the alchemy of attraction, the lust for life, embracing community and calling out the patriarchy. With a healthy dose of playfulness and fun thrown in.”

Vocalist Rakel says, “Dating musicians is a nightmare. Evoking imagery of late night make-outs with fuckboy/girl/ambiguously-gendered musicians on their mattress after being seduced by song-writing chat. The roles being equally reversed. Having a laugh together and being able to poke fun at ourselves is very much at the heart of this band. This song encapsulates our shared sense of humour. Sonically it is the lovechild of CSS and Motorhead. It has our hard, live, rock edge combined with cheeky and playful vocals.”

“Music is one of the only forms of people experiencing an emotion together in a visceral, physical, real way,” says Alice. “It’s cathartic to the systemic issues that are being called out across the board in the record. Music isn’t the cure, but it’s the remedy. Calling the record Social Lubrication harks to that. It’s the positive glue that can create solidarity and community.”

“The album is speaking to systemic problems that cannot be glossed over by lube,”
says Bella. “The things named in the songs are symptoms of f-ed up structures. And you can’t fix that. You need to pull it apart.”

Electron – ‘Sick and Wrong’

UK metallers, Electron, draw a line in the sand with their explosive new single, ‘Sick and Wrong’, which is out now!

On the single, frontman Jason Payne discusses: “The track symbolises solitude, melancholy, madness, anxiety and fear. The persona in this song (inspired by “The Scream, E. Munch”) is suffering a lot of pain. In the beginning, this person has hope that they will escape from the terror of its own mind – however, as the song evolves, they grow aware that the melancholy is eternal, and revolt with their agony.”

This Dying Hour – ‘Age of the Coward’

Modern metalcore 4-piece This Dying Hour have shared their blistering new single ‘Age Of The Coward’.

“‘Age of the Coward’ challenges the way we see ourselves – how we can either perpetuate or abolish the feelings of nihilism and guilt through the way we understand personal accountability. Over the years I have personally battled with self-identity and purpose. I don’t think these things are exclusive to me, but a journey we all must take. This is why we shouldn’t settle with your shortcomings, but instead with discipline and hard work we can lace their linings with gold. You can’t make the world a more meaningful place, until you see through who you truly are.” – Vocalist Steve Kerr.

Creature Cult – ‘poster boy’

With just one single out in the world – the powerful and rousing, ‘ughly’Creature Cult have shared new single ‘poster boy’ – another message delivered loud and clear: in the face of bigotry and hatred, be uncompromising in your self-expression.

Commenting on the new single, Connar says: “Poster boy is my hate letter to homophobia. It takes all the disgust and discrimination from vicious people and spits it right back at them. It’s basically saying I’m going to be the fucking biggest and loudest version of all the things you hate about me because I really don’t care what you think and I know that scares you. Being able to express yourself and love who you want to love should be treated by everyone as the basic human right that it is.”

Muse debut video for ‘YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE IT’S HALLOWEEN’

Muse – ‘YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE IT’S HALLOWEEN’

The week saw Muse release new album, ‘WILL OF THE PEOPLE’, on which Matt Bellamy says:

“Will Of The People was created in Los Angeles and London and is influenced by the increasing uncertainty and instability in the world.  A pandemic, new wars in Europe, massive protests & riots, an attempted insurrection, Western democracy wavering, rising authoritarianism, wildfires and natural disasters and the destabilization of the global order all informed Will Of The People.

It has been a worrying and scary time for all of us as the Western empire and the natural world, which have cradled us for so long are genuinely threatened. This album is a personal navigation through those fears and preparation for what comes next.”

Final Stair – ‘Never Felt Before’

‘Never Felt Before’ is the new single from Final Stair who release debut album, ‘Hope’ on September 30th.

The band comments: “ Never Felt Before is about the passionate attraction between two people. It’s about a special moment. You can feel the excitement at first glance. Your hands are starting to sweat and your stomach is tingling. They both have the same overwhelming feelings towards each other that just can’t be described. You’ve just never experienced anything like it.

When we wrote the song, we didn’t have to think twice. We realized very quickly that this song describes the topic of passion very well, as it rushes forward uncompromisingly from start to finish, is incredibly intense and hardly leaves any time to breathe.”

Northern Captives – ‘Every High’

‘Every High’ is the latest track from Northern Captives.

“Musically we wanted this song to push the dynamics to far extremes. We boiled down our verses to just kick, snare, bass, and vocals to match the intimacy of Cook’s lyrics. We kept drum parts very percussive, staying away from unnecessary ringing crashes allowed us to sonically explore low fi and broken textural sounds which would normally have been lost under cymbals.

We allowed the choruses to explode into a rich and dark sounding textural wall featuring distorted guitars and keys that amplified the desperation in the hook line ‘why must every high come down? Won’t you stay around?’” – Northern Captives

Dohny Jep – ‘Wine And Dine’

Kent-based alternative-rock trio Dohny Jep share new single, ‘Wine And Dine’.

. “Wine and Dine in its purest form is about love. It’s about those first moments of meeting someone new and the adventures that you are about to go on together, but also those first moments of conflict and how you pull together to get through those harder moments,” says vocalist Pete Herbert.
