Foo Fighters debut new song ‘Waiting On A War’

Foo Fighters – ‘Waiting On A War’

There isn’t long left to wait for the 10th album from Foo Fighters to arrive on 5th February. This week the legendary Dave Grohl celebrated his birthday in style by debuting the third track from ‘Medicine At Midnight’.

‘Waiting On A War’ follows the releases of ‘Shame Shame’ and ‘No Son Of Mine’ and gives a further glimpse of what fans can expect from the new album.

Holding Absence – ‘Afterlife’

It has been an eventful week for Holding Absence as they prepare to release their new album ‘The Greatest Mistake of My Life’ on 16th April. First the band unveiled their stunning new single ‘Afterlife’ before announcing the departure of bassist James Joseph.

The Sad Song Co – ‘My Saccharine’

Former Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls drummer Nigel Powell’s The Sad Song Co has release their new single ‘My Saccharine’. They will be releasing their album ‘Saudade’ next week on 22nd January.

Bearded Theory moves to September and announces Placebo!

Placebo to headline Bearded Theory

Bearded Theory festival have announced plans to move the festival to September in the hope that it will be safe to do so by then. Moving from May the event with now take place across 9, 10, 11 and 12 September.

The festival have also announced that Placebo will be joining the line-up, with full details to be revealed at a later date.

Music Feeds returns with stunning line-up to help fight food poverty!

As we get to know 2021, I think it’s safe to say that any hopes that the new year would magically fix the wrongs of the world have been very quickly dispelled! The reality is that there are many injustices that still require urgent attention, such as the continued battle against food poverty!

Thankfully this week we learnt that the online music festival Music Feeds is making a timely return to help fight the good fight. The event will be raising funds by delivering a stunning line-up across 28th & 29th January 2021! You can find out more information about the event of their website here.

The line-up over the two days truly is magnificent and ticket holders will be treated to performances from a number of our favourites including Fontaines D.C., Newton Faulkner, Flogging Molly and Emily Barker!

It’s a great line-up that features an eclectic mix of artists and there should be something for everyone with the event featuring household names such as Sam Smith, Charlotte Church and Blossoms. You can grab your ticket here.

Numan debuted the title track during his (R)evolution 40th Anniversary Tour in 2019 and fans have been hotly anticipating the new record ever since. Goodbye 2020!

At last we can all see 2020 in our rear-view mirrors! 2020 in most ways was a year to forget, full of frustration and misery. It was however, also packed with great new music as we discovered in our ‘Album of the Year’ blog, and full of memorable musical moments as we highlighted in our ‘Year in Review’ blog. We couldn’t be happier however to introduce our first Music News Roundup of 2021!

Hello 2021!

What will 2021 have in store? Will it be any better than 2020? Well, we can’t promise what the year holds but with vaccinations on the horizon and improved testing, we live in hope that we will see the return of live music.

One thing that is for sure is that there will be plenty of new music to enjoy. Expect new music from The Pretty Reckless, Architects, A Day To Remember, Rob Zombie, Evanescence, Greta Van Fleet and Weezer who all have albums scheduled for release.

Be sure to keep up-to-date with our weekly news roundup. You should also follow us on social media for all the latest music news!

We should expect a few surprises as well with the likes of Royal Blood and Garbage predicted to be readying new albums. So with much to look forward to in 2021, this week’s music news roundup features news of two more artists with imminent album releases!

Foo Fighters are back! With a certain virus curtailing the bands plans in 2020, Dave Grohl and co are pushing ahead with the release of new album ‘Medicine at Midnight’ on February 5th. Now the band has unveiled the second track to be taken from that record, the rocking Motorhead-esque ‘No Son of Mine’. Pre-order your copy now here.

You Me At Six – ‘Adrenaline’

Another band kick starting 2021 with new music is You Me At Six. The band debuted ‘Adrenaline’ on New Year’s Day ahead of the release of new album ‘Suckapunch’ on January 15th. You can pre-order their new album here.

Firstly this week, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. The holidays may be different this year for most, but however you are celebrating we hope that you have a safe and happy festive season!

Idlewild announce retrospective book to celebrate 25 years of the band

Idlewild – ‘In the Beginning There Were Answers’

Scottish rockers Idlewild have unveiled their new book, scheduled for release on 8th February 2021. ‘In the Beginning There Were Answers’ will “chart the story of the band with text and photographs, from its formation in the autumn of 1995 in Edinburgh, through the early years of local gigs, onto recording and touring albums such as ‘100 Broken Windows’ and ‘The Remote Part’.”

The 225 page book is available to pre-order here. The book celebrates 25 years of the band and Idlewild will also be playing a special tour in November with remaining tickets available here.

Attitude Is Everything schedule January Webinars for venues

Attitude Is Everything 3 hour webinars

The brilliant Attitude Is Everything continue to work hard towards their goal that “Deaf and Disabled People can be audience members, employees or artists at any live music event of their choice: music without barriers.”. In order to provide quality training in improving accessibility and disability awareness, they have scheduled four unique 3-hour webinar sessions.

These sessions are aimed at any organisation or company working in creative industries. More information of what these sessions will include and how to book your space is available here.

Ramblin’ Man Fair reveal Saturday Main Stage Lineup

Europe set to Rock The Night at Ramblin’ Man

Every year Ramblin’ Man Fair fills Mote Park in Kent with the finest rock n’ roll. They have now unveiled the main stage line-up for Saturday 17th July 2021 and it looks great! A very special acoustic set from Clutch promises to be a must see performance, plus also announced are Those Damn Crows and Monster Magnet.

With Special guests still to be announced the day is already looking packed with Europe set to close the night out. With Christmas upon us, don’t miss The Final Countdown for tickets here.

Slipknot Announce European Summer Tour

Slipknot European Summer Tour Dates

With news of vaccinations we are all hoping that by next summer we will be in a position to safely stand in a muddy field with thousands of strangers. Clearly, a number of promoters feel the same, as this week has seen a string of tour announcements.

Up first were metal titans Slipknot announcing their return to Europe with a list of summer dates including headline shows and festival appearances. There is no sign of any UK dates as of yet, however the band had been set to debut their own Knotfest in the UK before COVID-19 intervened. Fingers crossed!

Trivium to return to the UK

One celebrated metal band that are actually coming across to the UK are the always stunning Trivium. The band will play 4 shows in November 2021 with an impressive supporting bill including Heaven Shall Burn, Tesseract and Fit For An Autopsy.

The Darkness announce new Live Album and more

Lockdown Live with The Darkness

Following the release of Top 10 album ‘Easter Is Cancelled’, The Darkness are here to save Christmas! The Darkness are returning to close 2020 with a festive live concert and stream from London’s Indigo at The O2 on December 18th at 8pm GMT.

They have also announced that the event with will recorded for a new live album ‘Streaming of a White Christmas’. The album will arrive in April 2021 on CD and Vinyl, in partnership with Live Here Now.

In addition to the virtual livestream, VIP ticket options are available including attending the event itself. All social distancing requirements will be in place and attendees are being encouraged to arrive in Christmas themed fancy dress!

If that wasn’t enough, the band have teamed up with Signature Brew to create the special extra seasonal bitter ‘Bells End’!

Metallica soundtrack the Final Farewell of WWE’s Undertaker

Finally this week, Metallica soundtracked the Final Farewell of the one and only, the legendary, Undertaker! Yes that’s right, after 30 years the iconic deadman will finally rest in peace. To celebrate his unprecedented career, WWE held a Final Farewell at Sundays Survivor Series event.

The festivities featured a host of guest appearances from fellow wrestling icons such as Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and Kane. As usual the WWE also put together a stunning video package, featuring none other than Metallica!
